CIT Supported

A Service For...

  • Faculty
  • IT Professionals
  • Staff

CIT Hosting Service provides hosting options that can help you:

  • Focus your limited time and resources on application development instead of infrastructure.
  • Promote a consistent, standardized environment across applications.
  • Use the dev/test/prod environments, available for most services.
  • Negotiate clear expectations about service levels.
  • Take advantage of existing infrastructure which is reliable, robust and scalable.
  • Participate in collaborative user groups/forums that provide avenues for idea exchange and feedback.
  • Monitor hardware 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Backups files automatically.

When using a shared environment, there is a degree of standardization, such as the set of tools and software deployed by CIT. This means there is not as much room for flexibility in low-level or granular control as is found in a non-shared environment. Shared environments also make it necessary to follow a central upgrade schedule and participate in testing. Please be aware that although we make every effort to ensure that hosted environments are insulated as much as possible, there is a potential for other applications to affect yours.
