Instructions to connect to the audio visual equipment in conference room 135 located at 120 Maple Avenue.

Speakerphone

To dial out

  • For on-campus numbers, dial the 5-digit extension
  • For off-campus numbers, dial 9 + 1 + the 10 digit number, area code first

Wi-Fi Connection

If you have a Cornell NetID or are visiting from an eduroam-participating institution, connect to Wi-Fi using eduroam:  

  1. Select eduroam from the list of Wi-Fi networks on your device. 

  2. Sign in using your NetID@cornell.edu (the full address is necessary) and NetID password.

  3. Accept the network access certificate. 

  If you do not have a Cornell NetID, connect to Wi-Fi using Cornell-Visitor: 

  1. Select Cornell-Visitor from the list of Wi-Fi networks on your device. 
  2. A browser window will open automatically with the registration screen. 
  3. Enter your name and address.
  4. Click the checkbox to accept the terms of use. 
  5. Select Register

Basic Projection

To project your BYOD laptop to the LCD TV wall display: 

  1. Using the remote control, turn on the room LCD TV display. (If there is no signal select HDMI 1). 
  2. Plug the HDMI, or Mini DisplayPort connector into your computer. 

HDMI Cable

HDMI cable is wider. The metal connector is slightly angled on the sides.

Mini DisplayPort

The Mini DisplayPort cable is smaller than HDMI and has straight sides.

Web Conferencing

  1. Plug in the USB camera and microphone using the USB cable.
  2. From your web conferencing application, select the Logitech Webcam C930e as your camera and the Echo Canceling Speakerphone (Chat 170) as both your microphone and speaker.

The USB cable is smaller than HDMI but larger than Mini Display Port

  • CIT supports two web conferencing applications: Zoom and Skype for Business

Mersive Solstice Pod

To share content using the Mersive Solstice Pod system

  1. Using the remote control, turn on the room LCD TV display. (If there is no signal select HDMI 1). 
Participants who want to share content must be connected to Wi-Fi
  1. If you do not have the Mersive Solstice Client App or Software, go to IP Address: http://10.22.24.5 and follow the instructions to install.
  2. Start Solstice Client App or Software on your chosen device.  
  3. Under the Discovered tab – select 120 Maple, Room 135
  4. Enter the Key that is projected on the room screen. 
  5. Choose the media to display (Desktop, PowerPoint presentation, or other).  
  6. Use the drag-and-drop app interface to control on-screen content display.
You must disconnect your device from Solstice Client before leaving the room to prevent continued streaming.  If you do not disconnect your screen will continued to be displayed.

To Disconnect

  1. On iOS devices, first – Turn off Airplay Mirroring, then 
  2. For all devices (including iOS devices) select Disconnect in the Solstice Client App or Software 

Assistive Listening System

Receivers for the assistive listening system are located on the shelf in north-west corner of the room.  These receivers will work with earbuds or a t-coil equipped hearing aid. 

High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) Notice

This room’s AV System supports authorized playback of HDCP-protected content. As a form of copy protection, HDCP encoded content will not be able to be displayed at the remote video conference site, regardless of fair use status. Because Apple tags all content output as HDCP-enabled, output from Apple devices—including your PowerPoint files and other content—may not be displayed at the remote site during a video conference.
