Turnitin is plagiarism detection software that scans student work for matched text by comparing the work to a large database of student work, publications, and materials on the Internet.
The Turnitin service is available through an interface built in to Cornell's Blackboard Learning Management System. For information about how to use Turnitin, please use the navigation menus on the left of this screen.
This video gives a quick overview on how Turnitin works. (53 seconds; requires the Adobe Flash player)

Please note: Before you can view and grade Turnitin assignments, you need to make the Turnitin tools available in your Blackboard course Control Panel. Many Blackboard courses already show the tool, but some do not. Instructions for making the tool available can be found here.
