Minitab Licensing

This article applies to: Software Licensing

On This Page

Minitab is a web-based graphical mathematics and statistical analysis application. A desktop version for Windows is also available.

Starting with the 2022 license term, Minitab is licensed on an individual named-user basis, where the license is assigned to the individual customer. Licensees may use Minitab from any computer.

Request a License

Students and departments can purchase individual Minitab licenses at the CU Software Online Store.

There may be a delay of one business day between when you complete your purchase and when you are able to use the software. You will be able to use Minitab after you receive a confirmation notice by email directly from Minitab, Inc.

If you have not received that message on the day following your purchase,

  1. Check your Junk folder in case your email reader thought it was spam.
  2. If the missing message is not in your Junk folder, contact CU Software.

Accessing Minitab

After you have been set up with access rights, you can access the web-based version of Minitab.

Sign in with your NetID@cornell.edu address and your independent Minitab password.

Your Minitab license also provides access to a desktop edition for Windows. You can download the current desktop edition, Minitab 21.2.0 for Windows 64-bit.

Installation

Please see the instructions for installing Minitab.

System Requirements

The Minitab Web App requires an Internet connection and is supported on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Apple Safari.

The Minitab Desktop App for Windows (v21.2) requires Windows 10 or Windows 11 (all editions), 64-bit.
