How to Resolve Connection Issues: Macintosh OS X

  1. system-prefOn the Dock, click the System Preferences icon, or from the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
    The System Preferences window appears. Click Network to display the network preferences.
  2. In Mac OSX v.10.5 and later, click Ethernet on the left.
    In older versions of Mac OSX, from the Show drop‑down list, select Built-in Ethernet and then click the TCP/IP tab.
    (If the network preferences are grey and inactive, click the lock icon in the bottom left corner to activate them.)
  3. From the Configure IPv4 or Configure drop-down list, select Using DHCP.
  4. Close the Network preferences window and, when prompted, click Save.
  5. From the System Preferences menu, select Quit System Preferences
  6. Open an Internet browser (such as Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
  7. Go to the Cornell Network registration page. (This page may load automatically.)
  8. Complete the online registration.
